The Experimental Animal Center
The Experimental Animal Center of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) is being constructed in three phases. The first phase of the project will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2020. It is a teaching and research facility as well as a public service platform. The total space of the Animal Center is 500 square meters, which locates in the first floor of Tuhuilong Building. The center will provide SPF-level animal experiment platforms for rats, mice, and naked mice experiment. The center is positioned as a school-level laboratory animal public service and technical support platform, which will be managed and operated by a professional team to provide high-quality international-level animal experiment services for the teaching and research. The second phase of the project is expected to be completed in 2023, covering an area of approximately 1,500 square meters. The third phase of the project will be carried out simultaneously with the construction of the new campus of the Medical School, and the planned construction area will exceed 10,000 square meters.
